The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 全片的剧情是非常常见的好莱坞编剧作品，非常模式化，非常套路化，非常似曾相识，剧情虽然浪漫但却非常狗血，霸道总裁灰姑娘故事的性别颠倒版。

没看过之前的版本，单就这个新版来看，画面和惊悚感做的还是可以的，只是有些场景莫名其妙，例如5个女孩洗手间对着镜子没来由的念5遍糖果人狗带的情节就挺割裂的，虽然其中一个女生是看过画展的。本片主要还是因为种族隔离和歧视的内外原因导致的怨念难消，一代代的持续至今，美国依然存在种族问题，也是这个系列可以持续拍下去的原因吧。

性转版摩登灰姑娘为啥还在给大美人配中年好人男子，凭什么成功女士就非得只注重内在。诺丁山至少给配了颜颠的Hugh Grant，就不能给个不知道自己帅但明显是大帅哥的nerd吗
