The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 有点牵强，但我又还挺喜欢这个故事，一些设定和场景蛮有意思，这么新的画面质量把啥都拍清晰了也不一定是好事，怪怪的观感。奥斯卡真他娘帅。
本质是复仇片，赌博作为男主逃避和麻痹自我的作用完全没拍出来，就是单纯冷冰冰的在赌牌。赌博和复仇的部分割裂实在太严重。感情戏十分差劲，男主与男二的伪父子情戏码，和女主的伪爱情戏码都毫无火花，男二稍微好一点，女主偏喜剧演技与男主的表演以及整部电影的风格格格不入。
想要去靠出租车司机但还是失败了，故事处理的不够丝滑，他自身其实也根本没获得救赎，就像always win的usa，有些事做了就做了，再怎么美化自己也没用。
《海边的曼彻斯特》姊妹篇。Tell是一尊中空的雕像，被剥夺了一切行为的原动力，所有向好的苗头甫一出生便被掐死，永远活在过去的罪愆和痛感中，余下的人生于他只是pass the time，极度伤感，又无可奈何。
如果最后算总账的那场戏略去，给观众一个想象空间，我会给多一星。【观影史 211202】
这故事讲得确实法兰西，但距离法兰西精英还差几个身位
ᐈ一个小时玩40局，一天玩8到12小时，一周玩6-7天
并没有那么差，但又的确很多时候并没有满足类型期待。
新黑色电影与赌片杂糅，鱼眼广角下的战争创伤与幽闭恐惧直直展现在眼前。

让我有点想起《第一归正会》。是我喜欢的风格。
7.5 导演拯救剧本。并非如通常般着重展现赌牌、监狱、报仇这样充满“男子气概”重头戏，转而聚焦情感的流动表达。
搞不懂女主角的存在意义，男二一个就能顶上她的作用。
期待值太高了，结果看了两次也没看进去。放弃了。
